State of New Jersey
The state of New Jersey has safety laws that affect the sport of auto racing, and they are strictly enforced by the NJ State Police. The state police randomly visit the NJ QMA tracks, especially at Garden State in Wall. These state laws prevail over the QMA safety rules, and any safety violations found by the NJ State Police could result in a shutdown of the racing event.
In order to race in New Jersey, the following are required:
1. Seat belts must be in good condition with a maximum time of 2 years from the date of manufacture. Seat belts without dates will be considered over the 2 year maximum.
2. SA helmets only. The QMA newly approved SFI 24.1 is ok to wear in the State of NJ.
3. Drivers are not permitted to lean outside their car past the shoulder safety bar.
Steel-braided fuel lines are NO LONGER required.
